Today, I'd like us to discuss this topic of jealousy! Did you know that jealousy is a spirit? So many passages in the Bible describes God as jealous when it came to the love He has for the nation of Israel.
Here is the thing about God, He is righteous and there is no atom of wickedness in Him, so when He is jealous, be rest assured it is for a good reason.
Now, for us as humans, we are full of both good and evil - to be fair, mostly inclined to do evil than good, because we are weak and aren't master handlers of righteousness like God! So what happens when the spirit of jealousy comes upon us? Have you noticed that jealousy shows up where there is love or admiration? In 1 Corinthians 13, it specifically said, Love does not envy (an indication that true love never allows its jealousies to transition in envy).
So, I'd like to read real responses about times where you had to secretly handle jealousy. Make no mistake that we are not jealous by nature. If we were created in His image, then we are like Him.
Let's make this forum groovy, shall we?

If Iâm being completely transparent, whenever Iâm jealous, I find that it stems from an insecurity of mine, so instead of letting the jealous-ness fester, I try to focus on whatever it is that I am insecure about. This is easier said than done, only God can help us by pulling us through
Thank you so much for your transparency sis!
I believe strongly that we all have battled insecurities at some point or another.
Mostly, insecurities stem from lack of contentment in different areas, be it our looks, our skills, our body, our love life, anything we possess in general. Even in the house of God, jealousy is very rampant, because we are constantly in proximity with others that we love, admire, observe, work with or even look up to in ministry.
We have to learn the art of contentment with our little or our large because we will be exposed when we are not content. When we are not âokâ with what we have, we will look over our fences and become jealous about what is in the hand of our brother or sister.
In fact, many people with their hearts unchecked by the Holy Spirit are driven by jealousy to do what they do, not because of love. We have social media exposing unequipped people to do crazy things to be âokâ with themselves.
You and I are mothers and I believe that contentment can be written right into the hearts of our children from childhood! A lot of us do not have this skill set, âtongue speakingâ or not.
When I have caught myself admiring, I immediately have to hide securely in the love that God has for me, which is perfect. Only because I donât love perfectly without God. A lot of us are not capable of true love, so we fall short at loving ourselves truly and wish for other peopleâs lives. This is the time to access Agape, so that we are hiding completely content in love!
Much love sis. âĽď¸
